I’m a massive you tube fan. Funny thing just happened today, my 16:01 video was too boring and I got yanked from you tube, the screen shots and my thinking on it.

wow, I just workup to the largest bandwidth pull ever. 40mbps, this is important because it show my networks ability to sustain and it show’s its growth via craigslist. That green hump represents about 8.5 million images per day.

Amazon simple DATABASE is LIVE!

Amazon, is kicking some butt with cloud services, check out the new simple Database. From what I can tell you can’t do a JOIN, and thats a deal killer for me on some of my applications and for others it will work just fine, maybe there is another way to do JOINS? The google app engine simple database also has this challange.

If you follow Philip Kaplan “AKA PUD” you’ll know that this guy is a rock star in many way’s even the musical type. Pud’s company Adbrite.com is lunching a CPC feature “cost per click” and my response, “F**king A…” Way to go PUD, I’ll put that to work right away. This should really help out. To my knowledge Google does not have a CPC. If you run a site, check it out.

AMD Four TYAN in China? sorry IBM, Dell & HP, SUN you’re ok!.

Tyan has a new bad ass 4 cpu 64bit motherboad. If I were (Dell/IBM/HP), I would be worried? Why?, well I’m looking to buy this kind of power and so is every other other IT/Entrprenure tech guy, but we don’t have the 75K for the IBM x3950, and I would love to have the IBM if $$$$ was no problem. WHY? IBM glues them together like LEGO’S®. So you can just make or add cpu power on demand. Sun Microsystems has an 8cpu box the “sun fire x4600″ with four cores each. No matter what your choice its almost 2009 and the price of CPU power has droped, so no matter where you start you’re going to be OK. I could not find a price, I’m guessing no cpus $400-900, which is pure speculation. Tyan also is promoting a 8-socket /8-way server solution named SM4985-e + M4985-e. Wholy shit, this is cool. An 8 CPU system that seems to use two mother boards, here is the .pdf comment if you find more info. If any computer company wants to send me some bad ass server that I can cluster, I could give you some awarness by sponsoring YourName.ImageDeposit.com x approxiatmently 100,000,000 in 30 day’s.

Micheal Arringtons whit to Dave McClure makes gold, maybe?

the best site in the FUCKING world for tech! I like it.

OK, first read the post at techcrunch. so its a post about a few friends discussing a business idea called twilio.com. Obviously Micheal opinion of this is less enthusiastic then Dave’s. I think a fun idea for a site might have been birthed out of Micheal’s response. Micheal typed back “Refuckingdiculous” I love it over all slow direct nature of the way it rolls of the tongue. I propose a this idea. A digg for “ridiculous tech news” I’ll donate the name “REFUCKINGDICULOUS.COM” and some IBM servers if we can find a project manager and a sponsor for the other needs.

I have a contact at Microsoft they might give us a free account on the new Azure cloud, which will soon run mysql and PHP, I’m a windows guy because its all I know and it works for me, or maybe Microsoft Startup zone dot com can donate a win server OS to run it. I’ll keep you posted.

Amazon’s EC2 works with Windows and SQL server

Great news for the windows people you can now host your windows .asp dot net apps (unsure about asp classic, no word yet, I have an email in) on the amazon ec2 cloud, They are also offering it for SQL server. This is big news, click here to join the beta.

Euro startup thoughts, great read if you’re in a startup.

This caught my eye, “Fact is that start ups are really tough”. Its always a good reminder, that what we do is hard. You joined a start-up for certain reasons, go back to those reasons as a justification for the stress. So if you’re in a start-up, don’t let the stress kill you, sometimes all you need is just a little time off, very often it will yield the answer you seek. Going through this sideshow created by CAPE was enjoyable and I think you’ll like it.

OpenID, adds 400 million microsoft accounts-this is good.

I love the open-id concept and if you have never heard of it, its worth checking it out. Basically it would be great if we had one Identification to log-in to web sites without filling out all the normal repetitive registration and spam your friends routine. OpenID’s goal from what I understand is to make the whole process of joining sites simplistic. Good news; If you’re building sites and have been thinking about going with the (OpenID) system, the pool just grew another 400 Million people, with microsoft joining the effort. Congratulations to Microsoft team that made this happen, I’m sure allot of hard-work went into making a reality, there are many of us programmer folk that appreciate your efforts and energies in pushing forward this initiative. Microsoft’s continued support and influential leadership position with openID should help foster its adoption.
